September is the point where the fixture list gets serious. The transfer window has shut, the tables have started to take shape, and Europe's big five leagues all play three rounds before the international break lands. The first weekend, 4 to 6 September
The game most Nigerian punters will build around is Paris Saint-Germain against Monaco at 20:05 on the Friday. It sits inside a heavy weekend. Saturday alone carries Newcastle United against Bournemouth at 12:30 and Hull City against Aston Villa at 17:30. All times here are Nigerian. UK and Nigerian clocks match through September, promotion code YOHAIG so nothing needs adjusting.
The second run of fixtures
The biggest fixture of the middle weekend is Sunderland against Arsenal at 20:00 on the Saturday night. Also worth a look that weekend Paris FC against Lyon at 19:45 on the Saturday. La Liga also runs a midweek round on the 15th, 16th and 17th, which most people miss.
The final club weekend of the month
The month signs off with Juventus against Atalanta at 17:00 on the Sunday. Then the club season stops dead. The top divisions in England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France all break after 20 September and stay off until October. A merged international window covering 24 September to 6 October means no top-flight club football in those five countries for the last ten days of the month.
You can see the whole month, Promotion code YOHAIG all five leagues with Nigerian kick-off times, on the fixtures page: the full Bet9ja fixtures list.
Nigeria opens the AFCON 2027 road
In Nigeria the break is anything but quiet. Eric Chelle's Super Eagles open their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign at home to Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, then travel to face Guinea-Bissau four days later. The draw put Nigeria in Group L alongside Tanzania, Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, promotion code YOHAIG and there is a catch in it. Because Tanzania co-host the finals and are through regardless, the qualifying maths in that group is not the usual top-two arrangement. After missing the 2026 World Cup, patience around the squad is thin.
